Last year saw another fantastic Pride Parade make its way down Blackpool’s famous Promenade. With wonderfully decorated floats, fabulous costumes, lively participants, super volunteers and thousands of spectators lining the route it was an amazing sight to see.
This year the Parade will be sponsored by Blackpool BID we’re planning on making it as big, bold and bright as ever for 2016! Regardless of sexual orientation, we invite everyone to take part and show that they believe in LGB&T equality and diversity in Blackpool. We want to light up the famous Golden Mile with a spectacular rainbow display, so what are you waiting for? Come and take part!
Blackpool Pride Festival Parade applications now open!
Entering couldn’t be easier and it’s completely free. You can take part in either a walking group of any size, or ride along the Promenade in a vehicle, from a mobility scooter to a full size flat bed lorry!
The Parade starts at 11am at The Sandcastle Waterpark (next to South Pier) making its way along the Promenade towards North Pier. The Parade will then turn right into Church Street through the town centre, heading towards St. Johns Square in front of the Winter Gardens. This is where the Parade will end and the opening ceremony for Blackpool Pride Festival will take place before the events begin inside the Winter Gardens.
Everyone is welcome to join in and the route is accessible, staying on the road surface (virtually level access from start to finish). There are volunteers on hand to help too. Alternatively, we suggest that those who find walking difficult join us on Church Street as we leave the Promenade.
If you have any questions that aren’t covered in the guidance document, please email parade@blackpoolpridefest.com and we’ll try and help.
If you would like to apply to take part in this year’s Parade please complete the application form below.
Individuals and small walking groups of under 10 people can register on the day by going to the registration point outside the Sandcastle Waterpark by 10.45am on Saturday 11 June 2016.

I'd say it's too close to Liverpool which makes adequate arrangements for this parade. Liverpool has a gay quarter that has 'cornered the market' so to say.

Would disagree on that one: Liverpools " quarter " is still somewhat closeted. The first couple of Pride Events were very good but it has been a bit of a damp squid since. Manchester has really got the gay edge on the scene.
I still feel quite sure that this town could rustle up a reasonable effort. I mean to say, if our coastal neighbours can do it, why not here?
