Police are investigating after a man's body was found on the M55.
The motorway was closed Westbound between Fulwood and Kirkham after the alarm was raised at 1:45am.
An investigation has been launched.
Police released this statement:
"We are appealing for information after the body of a man was found on the M55 in the early hours of 7th April.
At around 2am we were called to reports of a body on the carriageway between junctions 1 to 3, near to Higher Bartle Bridge, Tabley Lane, Woodplumpton.
Officers attended and a 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner.
Roads Policing Officer Sgt Claire Pearson said: “We are trying to piece together the last movements of this man and so if anyone saw someone at Tabley Lane Bridge this morning or if you have any information that could help with our investigation, please get in contact.”
