Be interesting to discover if there are any passport checks done, either when sailing between mainland UK and NI, or sailing from the Republic to France.....Could be a way for UK'ers to get into EU for several months per year/retire to EU, without being stopped by all the legal barriers that Brexit has created.

It was always just going to be a matter of time with woke lefty resistance trying to bring down this excellent idea by saying it will never happen or it will only be for a few hundred and worthless when in FACT it’s always been going to start slow and build to a steady stream.

It is a Uk thing and if illegal undocumented immigrants flee into Ireland or the EU then that shows the deterrent is working already .

I don’t think they check passports from UK to Ireland or by arrival in small boats but the border between EU and UK is checked by passport control should anyone choose to enter legally .
I think the only problem that rishi has is he hasn’t got it done fast enough for the majority of us British that got to vote us out of the nonsense that was the European Union, and that was a long time coming.

It's an impractical, hideously expensive idea which would address less than 1% of the problem and represents an enormous waste of energy and time compared to dealing with it like grown-ups..

It's been concocted for a sideshow to entertain the morons who might otherwise waste their vote with Reform. But characteristically done so badly it has failed anyway.

If they want to reduce immigration the easiest way to do it is to stop issuing visas, if they can't come they can't overstay.

The evidence was on sky news this morning in a Rishi interview where he said basically what I said above that because some are running to Ireland to not be deported to Rwanda shows it’s working already.
And it was NEVER intended for just a couple of hundred in a sideshow it’s being set up properly for a steady flow.
It always was the woke lawyers that blocked it because the lefty’s put party before country, this was outlined in Johnson’s speech at the start

I was meaning the visas issued for visitors and students, many come over here then overstay this far outnumbers the illegal arrivals.

You are far more right than you know.
I can predict that if illegal immigrants were deported to Rwanda and within a couple of years they became citizens then they would be able to come on a first class flight back here on holiday for up to 6 months then stay on to live here for many years ( a lifetime ) undetected as overstayers.
As overstayers if they were ever caught they would be treated lightly (may be even get an extension on their visa) and not deported only asked to leave if they felt like it.

No that's not evidence. That's as you say an interview with Sunak, which is nowhere near the same thing. He is desperate to do what he can to keep this in play rather because it's all he has to stop people wasting their votes with Reform which would still torpedo the Tories.

I'd suggest you have a look at the details yourself and you will see that it is far too complex, full of holes and expensive . And that Rwanda does not have the capacity for much more.

And far from deterring the boats, they have increased. If people are prepared to pay everything they have to risk life to cross the channel, they will not find the tiny risk of this happening to them changes the decision at all.

Overstayers and the lack of a legal route are the big problems and this government has no intnetion- or indeed, time- to fix those now.

The bill passes ( as it was predicted ) and illegal immigrants run to Ireland on the same day that’s called evidence. Flights will take off small and end up a steady flow also as aimed for and the frequency of the boats get more and more as the government put plans in place as people are trying to get here BEFORE things are set up.
Rwanda is a big place and easily has more than enough capacity to process all that come here illegally and yes those that overstay are far too many now to deal with so illegals should not be let out into the community to run off underground but rather deported straight away to a 3rd country to be processed and the lack of legal routes might be sending a message that the majority of British people don’t want too many immigrants here, especially boatloads of young men or folk from countries that we have just been at war with that maybe will do us harm (and they do from acid attacks, murders of students and caretakers, rapes of children, concert explosions, murders of young soldiers and taxi hospital bombs and so on) it might not be what the woke want to hear but the truth seldom is.
Poland has no tolerance and also no terrorism do you think that’s a coincidence??
Landlord and workplace laws, checks and legislation has been introduced but can easily be got around if you know what you are doing and this should be policed better . Will they come a long way through other safe countries to get to benefits Britain often spending thousands they know they can get back within months if the system just takes them from boat to plane. I don’t think so.
You don’t have to suggest I have a look at it as it’s a bit of an interest mine over the last 20 yrs, it’s now being made to be not complex and not full of holes but just straightforward, those that wish it to appear complicated are just trying to frustrate it and put party before country. Just ticking them ashore as they step off small boats will look like a resolution on paper if you have no other plan but it’s not what this country needs . You might of just noticed it but it’s not new.
